About Us
Mark and I (this is SherLynne writing) came together April 1,2003. Mark was at the tail end of a suprise divorce, and I had just broken up with a fellow I'd been dating. In the course of the evening we started talking about the various courses we'd attended and philosophies of living. Finding a suprising amount in common, it seemed our conversations continued, like a novel, from one day to the next.
This website springs from our common desire for growth and learning, for finding our "Home" within our own skin, our own souls. We believe it to be absolutly possible, and have each tasted spans of time where we felt that joy of being "at home" even when circumstances presented challenges that "should" discourage the most resiliant. We want to pass this on to you.
We are no experts, just people like yourselves, asking questions, and seeking solutions that work to bring peace in our hearts...solutions and beliefs that bringus "Home" into our Hearts and Souls.
We truly welcome all questions, suggestions, comments and any topics or themes you would like us to address.
A bit more about us:
Suprisingly, we both grew up on small farms, Mark in Oregon, and I (Sherlynne) in Utah.
I attribute much of my "grounded nature" to this love of the earth. I am particularily fond of gardening, and Mark, of reading and running...in fact, he's now training for the October Saint George Marathon.
Outside of these personal ditties, it has truly been throught the "School of Hard Knocks", and our conscious efforts to learn the lessons our lives kept offering, that we feel we have something of value to offer you.
We are by no means "finished products". View us as your friend, a comrad and companion in this life we are journing together.
(This is Mark writing now) Something else about us...
We love to entertain new thoughts and ideas, drawing upon the wisdom and teachings of all peoples and cultures throughout the ages. Notwithstanding, the foundation for all our work is primarily Christian.
While we do not see ourselves as being exclusive and we will never advocate one denomination over another, we will always acknowledge God, our Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ in all the ideas and concepts we share. We believe it is through Jesus Christ's atonement and death on the cross that we all can be forgiven of our foolish choices in life. We also believe it is through Christ we can be healed from the natural heartaches and pain we suffer as a part of living together on this planet. It is to Him that we owe our thanks for the growth and peace we have found in our life journeys.
We hope you will find this same grattitude, peace, and joy in your life. Welcome to our hearts.
Welcome to Heart-Matters.
